Choose a game controller for the GameSet. If the controller is not currently connected, plug it in first. An icon for each connected controller should appear in the Settings panel. Click on one to select it.
Select Add New Set from the Settings for: menu.
In the ‘Select Application for New Set’ window that appears, locate and select the executable (.exe) program file for the game, and click Open.
|
Note: If the game is running in the background, you can simply select it from the Running Applications list at the bottom of this window. |
Your new GameSet becomes the active Set in the Settings for: menu. Select one of the main tabs (Buttons, Axis, or POV), and begin selecting button and control settings for the game. The GameSet is linked with the game’s program file so that the correct settings will load into your game controller every time you run the game.
If you have several controllers connected, select the icon for the one that is associated with the GameSet.
Select the GameSet from the Settings for: menu and make your changes in any of the main tabs.
To cancel all the changes that you have made in any GameSets since you started the current Gravis Xperience session, choose Restore Startup Preferences or Exit without Saving from the File menu. Any changes that you make to a GameSet take effect immediately when you exit Gravis Xperience.
When you create a new GameSet, it appears in the Settings for: menu with the name of the game’s program file. You can easily change the label for a Set to make it more descriptive.
Select the Set in the Settings for: menu.
Choose Modify GameSet from the same menu.
Type a new name for the GameSet in the Game Label field.
|
Important: Unless you want to use the GameSet with a different game (see below), do NOT rename the .exe file in the Game File field, or Gravis Xperience will not be able to recognize the game and load the correct settings. |
Click OK.
Deleting Sets for games that you are not currently using will help you to keep the list of games in the Settings for: menu to a manageable size. This option deletes the GameSet permanently from the Preference file. If you think that you may want to use the GameSet again later, you should export it first (saving a copy to the GameSets folder on your hard drive) before you delete it.
Select the GameSet in the Settings for: menu.
Choose Change/Delete Set from the same menu.
Check the Delete This Set button.
If you have already created a GameSet for a game (Quake, for example) and then install a newer version of the game (e.g. Quake2) on your computer, you may want to use the same settings for the new version. To do this:
Select the original GameSet in the Settings for: menu.
Choose Change/Delete Set from the same menu.
Rename the .exe file in the Game File field to reference the newer version’s program file name.
Click OK.
