Axis Tab |
Use the Axis Tab to select and configure each axis control on your game controller.
The summary table shows your current axis settings.
For each axis control on your game controller, this table shows your current selections for:
Mode. This column shows the selected mode, or control style, for each axis control: Joystick, Game Pad, Keystrokes, or Mouse.
Axis Selection. This column shows which axis or axes the axis control is currently set to control: X-Y, U-V, Z, or R. (Some game controllers, such as Xterminator Force, also support a setting of Z-right or Z-left for a proportional flipper.)
Axis Polarity. This column shows the current polarity setting for each axis. If a D-pad on your game controller is set to control the X and Y-axes, the normal polarity setting is X+Y+. If you reverse the polarity of the Y-axis, the setting shown will be X+Y-.
Null Zone Size. The values in this column reflect the null zone setting (0 – 10) currently defined for each axis control. The null zone allows you to move the axis control very slightly off center without any motion occurring in the game.

Note: The “Rudder” axis controls labeled on the Xterminator Digital GamePad refer to the left and right flipper buttons. Because the flippers are proportional (rather than digital, “on/off” switches like the other buttons), each flipper controls half of an additional axis. The flipper buttons on Xterminator Force can be set to control the Z (throttle) or R (rudder) axes |
If an entry in the axis summary table appears with a mode description (in yellow type) of Off, it means that you have assigned the same set of axes (for example, X-Y) to two different axis controls. Gravis Xperience cannot allow this, since the two axis controls would conflict. Instead, it disables one of the axis controls (sets it to ‘Off’ mode) and notes this by highlighting it in yellow. To fix the problem, select a different set of axes for the disabled control.
In the Axis Tab, click on any axis control to open the Axis Configuration Window, where you can choose a control mode and select a set of axes to control.
