There is a nature building competition at 7:00 PM vrt in Comet City, AWTeen 1985s 2205w. It's held by Saber Mage. Just want to watch, be a judge, or compete for the best build. Lots are 6x6 cells. Send this to all of your online friends & be there! I have examples of how I think the DS would be used below each entry. ---------- 1) Strings - You probably know what strings are, but just reminding they're placeholders like variables but can contain both characters and numbers. Strings would/should have the same identifiers as variables (%). Along with strings would be a couple of additional functions, and of course additional conditions etc. to go with them. ----- a)Set String - Just a command to set a string to something. Example: (5:####) Set string %string to string {Something Here.} ----- b)Set String To Name - Just sets a string to the name of the triggering furre Example: (5:####) Set string %string to the name of the triggering furre. ----- c)Set String To Word(s) - There would probably be a couple for this one. One would be for the chat text the triggering furre said after the triggering set of character(s). Another would be for before the triggering set of character(s). And a final one might be for all the text around the triggering set of character(s), text on the left of them being first and on the right being second. Then obviously one to set a string to everything the triggering furre said. Examples: (5:####) Set string %string to what the triggering furre said after the triggering text. (5:####) Set string %string to what the triggering furre said before the triggering text. (5:####) Set string %string to what the triggering furre said other than the trigger. (5:####) Set string %string to what the triggering furre said. ----- These string functions could be very useful, along with additional conditions like: (and string %string is equal to text {text here}) (and string %string contains the text {text here} somewhere in it.) ----- An idea I just got. It would be nice if periods/decimals could be used as separators for perhaps setting the name of a variable/string to include/be the value/text in a variable/string. I got this idea from a bot program I used once for a different game. Examples: (5:300) set variable %%string.health to the value 300. = Outcome: the variable you would be setting (if %string was the triggering furre's name and equal to "Bob") would become %Bobhealth and it would hold the value "300" (5:300) set string %option.%variable to the value {This is option %variable.} = Outcome: the string you would be setting (if %variable was equal to 5) would become %option5 and it would hold the text "This is option 5." ----- Can you see the new possibilities if these features/functions were added to the DSed? You would be able to create separate variables or strings for, if you wanted, every furre that entered your dream. If you wanted to you could make a multiplayer role playing experience more exciting than before, giving people limits that you and/or other furres can't mess with. You could do this, for example, by setting a string to the triggering furres name, then setting health and maxhealth variables or otherwise, like: %furrename.health & %furrename.maxhealth. Anyways, furcadia dreams would have many more possibilities and capabilities with functions/features like these added. Yet I do realize that the strings set in a dream would be reset if the dream was unloaded or reloaded elsewhere. In that case, maybe a function could be made to record variables and strings in a .txt or other type of file, and that file would either be kept on the uploader's computer or furcadia website. The latter would probably be less convenient for the furc staff, so of course I suggest the first overall. Just a suggestion though. ---------- 2) Timers/Animations - My only suggestion in this subject is that timers would be able to go down to perhaps 0.1 seconds, so that animations could seem smoother and such. Realizing this might lag furres, then an adjustment to add separate frames for animation to objects should be made in the patch editor. You could accomplish this perhaps by adding a bar below/above the bar that switches between different objects, and would look the same but switch between frames of the current object. ---------- 3) Furre Gestures - This just caught my attention when I was attempting to create a pointless set of DS. There are no commands to make the furre at position (x,y), any furre present, or the triggering furre sit down, stand, or lay. I realize there may be a reason for this, but just stating in case no one realized this. Also, another idea, perhaps in DS there could be a way to change the way a furre looks, for example something could set the furre's sprite/avatar to take on a blank graphic, making them "invisible." Or, through a bit of DS with such a function, you could create completely new gestures for furres. ---------- Overall I wish more than my other suggestions that the features stated under 1 (strings) will be added to the DS ideas. I wish that you will take my ideas into account, and perhaps fulfill them. Thank you for reading over this list of suggestions for furcadia and it's components.
