Final Fantasy Legacy FAQ
Welcome to Final Fantasy Legacy. Before you get started, we would like
to go over some of the rules for this game.
The rules are:
1.No Spamming
2.No Excessive Swearing
3.No Excessive Insults
4.No Blocking
5.No Asking to be a GM
6.No Asking for anything unreasonable from a GM
1. How to Play
A. Starting point
You start the game in the Town of Baron
with 2500 GP(money) but without any equipment and items. It is highly
recommended for anyone who is just starting out to visit the Weapons
and Armor Shop in Baron before heading out to do battle (since you lose 1/2
of your GP when you die).
B. Controls
1) How to buy/sell/rest
Whenever you are in an Item Shop, Weapons and Armor Shop, or an Inn,
stand directly in front of the Merchant/Inn Keeper and press 5 on the numpad
(always use the numpad and turn numlock off). This will bring up the
Buy/Sell Menu (or the Yes/No Menu if you are at an Inn). Anyway, once in
any of these Menus, pressing the arrow keys will move the cursor, pressing
5 on the numpad will select/confirm an option/choice, and pressing 7 will
cancel/exit. Also, pressing 5 in front of an in-game character allows you
to "listen" to what they have to say.
2) How to use the Game Menu
Pressing 9 on the numpad (numlock off) will activate the Game Menu
where you can check your stats, browse/use Items, and equip/reequip Weapons
and Armor. Once again, pressing the arrow keys will move the cursor,
pressing 5 will select/confirm an option/choice, and pressing 7 will
cancel/exit. Eventually, Players will save their game by selecting the
Save Option and pressing 5 (doing this will save you at your current
location), but for now, the game automatically saves whenever you log out.
3a) How to Battle
The Battle System used in Final Fantasy Legacy is Active Time Battle
(ATB). Once in battle, Party Members and Monsters will take turns battling
(based upon their individual speed) until one of the two Parties is defeated
(or you run). When it is your turn, a cursor will appear on your battle
menu. Pressing up/down will move the cursor up/down the Menu, pressing left
will enable you to run, pressing right will enable you to parry, and
pressing 5 on the numpad (numlock off) will confirm your selection. Once
you have selected your command, you can move the cursor to select the
Enemy/Player whom you wish to Attack/Cast Spells upon. Continuosly pressing
the left arrow key will allow you to select All Monsters and continuously
pressing the right arrow key will allow you to select all Party Members
(this won't work with all spells). Pressing 5 again will confirm your
choice, and your character will execute the selected Command. At the end of
the battle, each Player still standing will recieve Experience/GP.
3b) The Experience/GP System
Since Final Fantasy Legacy is designed to support Parties, a new system
has been developed to encourage Players to form Parties. This new system
works as follows:
1 Person Party: recieves 100% of the Exp./GP.
2 Person Party: recieves 120% of the Exp./GP divided by 2
3 Person Party: recieves 130% of the Exp./GP divided by 3
4 Person Party: recieves 140% of the Exp./GP divided by 4
5 Person Party: recieves 150% of the Exp./GP divided by 5
Note: If your HP reaches zero, you will not recieve any Exp/GP at the end of
the battle. If your entire party is wiped out, you will restart outside of
Baron and you will lose 1/2 of your GP.
4) Bank
The Bank (Fat Chocobo) is in the Chocobo Forest located to the
SouthWest of Baron in the small round patch of trees. Pressing 5 on the
numpad (numlock off), while standing in front of Fat Chocobo, will bring up
the Bank Menu where you can give/take (store/withdraw) your Items and GP.
Press 5 to select/confirm, and press 7 to cancel/exit. Keeping your GP in
the Bank is especially useful since you won't lose it when you die.
2. Bonus Section
A. Chocobo Breeding/Racing
1) Location and Main Menu
Final Fantasy Legacy features Chocobo Racing. To get started, goto
the Pub in Baron (located to the NorthWest of the Item Shop) and talk to one
of the Announcers behind the Counter to make the Chocobo Menu appear. The Menu
reads as follows:
1. Register Chocobo: Enters your Chocobo into a Race (200 GP)
2. Feed Chocobo: Buy and Feed your Chocobo Seed
3. Quit: Exit the Menu
Note: The 200 GP spent to register your Chocobo will be added to the Pot
where the Winner takes all.
2) Chocobo Stats, and Seed Menu
A Chocobo has 3 Stats which will help determine it's Performance, they
are: Speed (Top Speed); Strength (Acceleration); and Dexterity
(Maneuverability). A chocobo's Stats can be increased by feeding it special
"Seed". They are:
1. Gysahl: Increases Chocobo's Speed Stat (350 GP)
2. Reagen: Increases Chocobo's Strength Stat (350 GP)
3. Krakka: Increases Chocobo's Dexterity Stat (350 GP)
4. Tantal: Same as Gysahl, Reagen, and Krakka, but increase the stats a bit less (450 GP)
5. Sylkis: Same as Gysahl, Reagen, and Krakka (800 GP)
3) Starting a Race/Controls
Talk to the Announcers, and register your Chocobo to start a Race. You
can control the Chocobo by repeatedly pressing or Holding in the Four
Directional Arrow Keys. The Controls are as follows:
1. Up Arrow Key: Increases Chocobos Speed
2. Down Arrow Key: Decreases Chocobos Speed
3. Left Arrow Key: Turns Chocobo Counter-Clockwise
4. Right Arrow Key: Turns Chocobo Clockwise
