11- Creating a Fighting Background

* Now that we have an enemy, we must create a Background to fight against. When a fight starts, the player is whisked away to a new screen and fights the enemies. The screen that the player is whisked away to is some fighting background.

* Go to the main screen, and select Edit Background. The background editor is very similar to the board editor. Try to make a background similar to the one in the graphic you see here, then save the background as bkg1.bkg.

* Now that we have created an enemy and a fighting background, we can add some fighting to our game. Go into the Board Editor, and open up one of your boards. Now we will add fighting to this board. Click on the Board Settings menu and select Board Information.

* Below the directional links section there is a section for fighting. Click in the checkbox to enable fighting on this board, then set the board skill level to 1 (the same as the enemy from before).

* Finally, click on the background button and select bkg1.bkg (the background we just created). Now hit OK, and save the board. You have just enabled fighting on this board!

* Now test run your game. Once you get to the board where you added the fighting, just wander around awhile until you get into a fight. You should find yourself fighting between 1 to 4 enemies. Here is a good time to familiarize yourself with the Toolkit's fighting system.
