DST10 0:Master Socket kidnapped my kiwi! 1:Welcome to Furcadia! My name is Beekin the help dragon. I'm here to help you learn the basics. If you're interested, follow the grey arrows down the path and I'll tell you more! To move, use the arrow keys on your keyboard, or click your mouse on the screen. 2:If you'd like to have a real person help you, just go across one of the bridges and talk to a Welcomer Beekin. Otherwise let's go follow those grey arrows! Don't mind the playful kiwis along the way, they're just curious. 3:Beekin says, "You can see how many furres are in Furcadia right now by pressing F4! If you accidentally go to another map at any time, you can press Ctrl-B to come back." 4:Beekin grins. "I bet you're wondering what there is to do here! We like to make friends from all over the world. You can also explore, try games and puzzles, join groups for RolePlaying, or even create your own world!" 5:Beekin smiles. "At the lower left, you'll see five tabs, A B C D & E. Click on A, and you'll find buttons for movement. You have a choice of these, or some keyboard shortcuts (I'll tell you later). Use whichever is easiest for you. #SA" 6:Beekin picks up a pair of dice. "We've made it to the portal to Challenges! This dream is full of fun things to do! Another way to get there is to click on the B tab. There are several teleport buttons there for you to use. Challenges is the C hexagon, but don't go there yet!" 7:Beekin motions you over. "To pick up an object, stand on top of it and press F2. To drop it press F2 again. Try picking up the blue egg here. Press F3 to 'use' the object. You can also use the buttons on tab A to do this. #SA" 8:Beekin says, "Furcadia is also about chatting and just plain hanging out! One of our places for that is Acropolis. You can get to Acropolis by clicking the A hexagon in tab B. Acropolis is a map for socializing, and it lets furres (like you!) upload their own user-created maps, called dreams, as well. #SA" 9:Beekin says: "To talk to someone on your screen, just type, then hit Enter. To talk privately (whisper), just type /theirname and the message, and only they will see it. For names with spaces, just leave out the space. Check out tab E for expressive faces. #SG" 10:Beekin sits down and smiles. "To lie down, all you do is press Ctrl-L. Press it again to sit up, and once more to stand back up. Pillows and chairs let you sit automatically, just by moving onto them. Turning in place is also pretty easy. All you do is press the Insert or Delete keys. Feel free to try it now. #SA" 11:Beekin says, "You can pretend to be anything you want here. We call this Persona Play. Type the ; and an action sentence to show what you are doing. For example - ;smiles! #SA This portal leads to an R-rated adults only dream called Furrabian Nights. If you are over 18 you can find this area on the FurN button on tab B. There are parental controls in the configuration tool (config.exe) to limit access." 12:Beekin points. "The AI hexagon on tab B, is for Allegria Island, often called the Isle of Dreams. There are tons of interesting player dreams there to explore! #SA" 13:Beekin says, "Another map used for socializing, as well as Persona Play, is Meovanni Village. To get to "Meo", click the V hexagon. There you are welcome to be In Character (IC), or Out Of Character (OOC). There's lots to see, so make sure and visit sometime!" 14:Beekin smiles. "In Furcadia we play by the Consent Rule: If somebody says they've done something to you, or tries to pretend that you did something, you can act like it didn't even happen. Nobody can force you into anything, the choice is up to you. #SA" 15:Beekin says, "If someone harasses you, we've got an ignore command. "If you'd like to be a special character in Furcadia, like a dragon or phoenix, or have wings, you can look at tab D. They're a good way to get people's attention, and some have extra 'effects' and can take you to secret dreams! The money from these sales are used to support Furcadia. This takes place mostly in Imaginarium or private dreams. The I hexagon takes you there. (No violence on the other main maps, please.) Theriopolis is one of the darker places for Roleplaying. This dream has the flavor of old Venice. You can find portals to "Therio" in Meovanni and Imaginarium. Since this is an IC map, be sure to keep all OOC talk in whispers here." 20:Beekin waves his paws, and a tiny world hovers in front of him. "In Furcadia you can use your imagination to create wondrous places of your own. You can build your home, make a quest or game dream, open a place of business, or get others together to create a Group or Guild. To make forming these easier get a Group Package from Digo Market." 21:Beekin says, "There are editors to help you make your own dreams, create your own graphics and even an easy scripting language called DragonSpeak to make things happen, and add sounds and music!
