Tue Jun 19, 2007 ---------------- So, the Robo Go storyline, or at least what there is of it so far: A group of four engineering scientists created the robo which they refer to as "the prototype", their names being Keiji Imahune (the head of the group), Gene Subskivix, Gerald Renstadt, Vance DeBlaum, and a fifth, less remembered one named Marto-Friggly. The robo was created for serving the purpose of the most powerful single-entity force, offensively and defensively, and to be used in the hands of a large military force of the time. Once they'd finished creating all parts that were to be used in conjunction with the robo, they came to realize how dangerous the robo could actually be should it go awry in its conscious state. So, in fear of such a possibility, they opt to take all of the parts and weapons they created for it and seal the weapons away in "temples" or different remote areas spread throughout the world, using their technology to create suitable defensive and offensive structures, and one large robot to guard each weapon, as well as many smaller robots to make the journey to the weapon chamber difficult. They seal away the less dangerous parts in safety devices (capsules, chipsafes) and hide them throughout the temples/remote areas. The group of scientists use all of these precautions so that the parts should never fall into the wrong hands... They seal the robo itself in a sort of stasis chamber that keeps it inactive, but would reactivate it in any of certain types of situations sensed during annual environment checks. Afterward the scientists break up and stow away to different locations, wandering the Earth as unknown souls away from society. They understand that the force they developed the robo for would only kill the scientists if they were to find them at all, using their technologies and knowledge to safely retrieve the parts from the temples, reuniting them with the robo and ultimately awakening it. Several hundred years later, the laboratory that houses the stasis chamber in which the robo is contained is slowly crumbling to the ground because of tremors caused by a large war between humans and the scientists' abundant amounts of small (but dangerous) robots. The robots have by this time gone awry and have escaped from their temples/remote areas, the chaos theory (the theory that supposed-to-be infinite loops will eventually be thrown off by some anomaly) taking effect on their looping guard routines and perimeter checks. They think the people they run into (as well as themselves) are inside their own assigned temple/remote area, and thus attack and kill the people. The stasis chamber's main computer/terminal, which performs consistent environment checks, senses danger in tremors caused by the war, and releases you (the robo). It is there that you awaken and begin your game, with an escape from the crumbling laboratory. So basically, the game is set in a technologically advanced future at least 400 years off. It's side scrolling action adventure game. Savvy? xP So for spriting, what is really needed is environmental objects to up the atmosphere, such as random broken metal machinery and parts, icicles for the ice areas, plant and nature-related things for the grassy areas, background walls with and without windows, etc. but if you'd like to do stuff used in gameplay, we could probably use some of that too. 'Tsup to you .
