Alias DirectConnect for Inventor™

Capabilities

Alias DirectConnect for Inventor™ allows you to import Inventor ASCII or binary files (*.iv) into Alias ImageStudio software.

Inventor file format structures imported:

Alias software	Polygon Import	NURBS Import
Alias ImageStudio

Software Prerequisites

· Install the Alias ImageStudio software.

· No license is required for Alias ImageStudio.

Types of data imported

The following data is maintained when Inventor files are imported:

· Data organization (parent, child and groups)

· Units

· Materials

· Textures

· Polygonal Shapes

· Transformation nodes

Limitations

· Import options are not available.

· Lines, cameras, lights, manipulators, tolerances and animation are automatically excluded when an Inventor file is imported.

To import Inventor files

1 In your Alias ImageStudio software, choose File > Import.

2 Browse and select an Inventor file (*.iv).

3 Click OK.

The translator will automatically launch and the file will be imported.
