Recommended system requirements

Alias DirectConnect requires 70 megabytes of disk space available on your system drive or destination drive.

If you will be working with large models or complex renderings, you may need to boost your configuration as follows:

Alias StudioTools	· Intel® Pentium® III, Pentium 4, Pentium Xeon™ CPUs or AMD Opteron™ processor
Alias ImageStudio	· A Pentium 4, 2.8GHz or equivalent AMD Athlon™ processor · 1GB RAM or more of memory · A graphics card with 64 -128 MB TRAM (texture memory)
Maya	· Intel Pentium III, Pentium 4, Xeon, or AMD Athlon™, or Opteron processor

Note to Maya users: Make sure the Alias DirectConnect plug-in is loaded Alias DirectConnect does not auto-load into Maya. 1 In Maya, select Window > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager. 2 Click one of the following plug-ins to enable all translators. Windows = DirectConnect.mll Macintosh = DirectConnect.lib 3 A check mark will appear in the box. To see which Alias DirectConnect translator(s) are installed and licensed on your system, use File > Open Scene or File > Import to open the File Browser and look at the list of file types in the Files of type field. If a file type is shown for a particular CAD format, its translator is available for use if licensed.
