The amount here is the deduction you're allowed for all your 2007 unreimbursed job-related expenses (and those of your spouse, if you're married filing a joint return). It includes the costs of:
- Travel for work
- 50% of meals and entertainment
- Supplies
- Professional books and publications
- Home office and vehicles expenses
- Depreciation of tools and other property used for your job
- Expenses to look for a job within your current occupation
You're only allowed to deduct these kinds of expenses to the extent they exceed 2% of your adjusted gross income. We've taken care of these limitations for you.
