If you connect to the internet using a proxy server and you are having problems downloading updates to TaxCut from within the program, or you are having problems e-filing, you can use TaxCut's Proxy Settings Tool to change your settings. These settings will only be used in TaxCut, and will not affect other programs.
Note: We recommend that you check with your Network Administrator before making any changes to the proxy settings on your computer.
Your system proxy settings are shown beneath the option "Use system settings". If these fields are blank, your system does not use proxy settings.
To use different proxy settings with TaxCut, click the option "Use proxies from TaxCut settings".
Enter the new proxy server address and port settings for HTTP: (Web).
Enter the new proxy server address and port settings for HTTPS: (Secure Web). This is used for e-filing purposes.
Click OK to apply the settings and close the Proxy Server Settings dialog box.
Click the option "Use the system automatic proxy configuration script" at the top of the Proxy Server Settings dialog box.
Click the option
"Disable all proxy settings" at the top of the Proxy Server
Settings dialog box.
