Changing Your iDisk Backup Password

When you set up TaxCut to automatically back up your returns to your iDisk, you are prompted to enter a password to protect your files. Unless you set the Remember password option, TaxCut requires you to enter this password to restore your files from your iDisk.

If you want to change your password, TaxCut allows you to create a new one.

To change your iDisk password:

  1. Go to the TaxCut menu and select Preferences.

  2. Click the Backup icon on the Preferences dialog box.

  3. Click the Change Backup Password button. TaxCut opens the Change Password dialog box.

  4. Enter your old password.

  5. Enter you new password and confirm it by entering it again.

  6. Click the Remember password check box if you want TaxCut to automatically remember your password when you restore files from your iDisk. If you leave this box unchecked, TaxCut will prompt you to enter you to enter your password each time you restore you tax return files from your iDisk.

  7. Click the Change Password button. TaxCut applies the new password to all the backed up files stored on your iDisk that are protected with the old password.
