State Electronic Filing Exclusions

Some restrictions are placed on the types of tax returns that you can file electronically.

When you go through the File tab Interview and you choose to file your return electronically, TaxCut reviews your return and determines if it qualifies for e-filing. If it doesn't qualify, TaxCut notifies you and lists the reasons why.

TaxCut allows only one state resident return to be e-filed with a federal return. TaxCut allows the e-filing of part-year resident or nonresident returns only for the states of California, Georgia, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York and North Carolina. Additionally, TaxCut allows the e-filing of part-year returns for Maryland.

TaxCut's state Electronic Filing supports only certain forms when filing your state and federal returns together or separately. There also may be a maximum number of each type of form or schedule that you are allowed to file per return.

Just follow our step-by-step guide in TaxCut, and we'll help you complete any necessary paperwork, if applicable, to your state's taxing authority.
