Will my W-2 information be confidential and secure?
Yes. We use the latest encryption technology, 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL), to help protect the tax information you transmit over the Internet. This is the same technology used by banks and other financial institutions, which enhances safety and reliability in transmissions over the Internet.
Will my entire W-2 be sent from my employer?
The Automatic Tax Return Wizard will transfer all the same information that would appear on your paper W-2 form. And you will not need to manually enter it.
Will the imported W-2 look like a paper W-2?
TaxCut is not actually transmitting your physical W-2 form. Only the information contained on it is being sent over the Internet. And, with this new feature, it will be placed in the correct field entry areas on your tax return. Without you worrying about errors or an incomplete return!
What if I have more than one W-2?
If the employer which issued this W-2 is participating in our Auto Entry feature, you can import this W-2 now.
Later, you'll have an opportunity to tell us about any remaining W-2's. We'll check each one in turn to see if it can be imported. For now, we'll work on this W-2.
