Connect to the Internet now.
Once you are connected to the Internet, maximize TaxCut.
Click OK to check for an update. TaxCut determines if your version needs an update.
Make sure your cables are securely attached to your computer.
If you use a proxy server to connect to the internet, you may need to change the settings for the server.
From the Tools menu, select Proxy Settings. The Proxy Server Settings dialog box displays. Your system proxy settings are shown beneath the option "Use system settings". If these fields are blank, your system does not use proxy settings.
Click the option "Use proxies from TaxCut settings".
Enter the new proxy server address and port settings for HTTP: (Web)
Enter the new proxy server address and port settings for HTTPS: (Secure Web). This is used for e-filing purposes.
Click OK to apply
the settings and close the Proxy Server Settings dialog box.
Click the Start button and then point to Programs.
Click Windows
Explorer and look on the status bar at the bottom of the window for the
available disk space.
Start TaxCut.
Select About
TaxCut from the Help menu.
The Federal version number is listed in the center of the dialog. If you have any states installed the state version number is also listed.
