If you receive a message that your unlock key is not valid, first, double-check to make sure that you have entered the correct Unlock Key and Name from the confirmation e-mail that you received when you purchased the TaxCut Deluxe program. It is best to copy and paste the information directly from the e-mail itself.
If your Unlock Key still does not work, you'll have to obtain a new Unlock Key to install the product. You can obtain another Unlock Key by accessing the TaxCut web site. You will need your original purchase receipt email that you used to purchase the TaxCut product. You will also need your User Code.
Open TaxCut Trial.
Go to the Tools menu and select Purchase and Unlock TaxCut.
On the dialog box that displays, you will find the User Code in this format XXXX-XXXX.
Go to www.taxcut.com/customer_support/getting_started/unlockcode.
Enter the Confirmation Code found on your original purchase receipt email that you received when you purchased the TaxCut product. Note: If you are unable to locate your Confirmation Code, please call customer support at 1-888-4TAXCUT (1-888-482-9288).
Enter the last 4 digits of the credit card number that you used to purchase the TaxCut product (also found on your original purchase receipt email).
Enter your User Code, and click Submit.
Insert your TaxCut CD in the drive.
Install and open TaxCut.
Select Purchase and Unlock TaxCut from the Tools menu.
Click Unlock.
Enter the requested information.
Click OK.
