Connection Testing Tool

If you connect to the internet using a proxy server and are having difficulty downloading the latest update to TaxCut from within the program, you can use TaxCut's Connection Testing Tool to determine if your problem is related to proxy settings on your computer.

To test your internet connection:

  1. Click the Start button on the Windows task bar.

  2. From the Start menu, select Programs, and then TaxCut2003.

  3. From the TaxCut2003 menu, select Connection Tool.

  4. On the Connection Tool dialog box, click Test.

The results of the test will be displayed in the text box on the Connection Tool dialog box. If you run the test more than once, the new results will be appended to the results you received previously, unless you click the Clear Text button after you run the test.

If the connection test determines that your proxy settings are creating a problem, you can use TaxCut's Proxy Settings Tool to change the settings on your computer.

Note: We recommend that you check with your Network Administrator before making any changes to the proxy settings on your computer.
