Now that you have completed and filed your federal tax return, there is no better time to think about how to achieve your long-term financial goals. To help you accomplish this, TaxCut can create free retirement and education financial plans customized for your situation. Your plan includes:
free access to individual advice from a professional investment advisor;
"what if" financial planning scenarios as you consider the best ways to meet your objectives;
evaluation of how much your retirement goals are under, or over funded; and
access to a comprehensive set of life event financial planning tools, including tools for saving for a new baby, a home and travel.
Here's how it works. TaxCut asks you a few simple questions about your financial situation. Then you must connect to the Internet and transmit selected data from your return to the H&R Block Financial Advisors' Web site. The data you transmit is then used to create your own password-protected, free financial plan on that site. TaxCut allows you to create a retirement savings plan or a college savings plan, or both.
To create a financial savings plan:
If you're not already in the Plan tab, click the Take Me To... button, select Free Financial Plan under Plan, and click Go.
Check the box or boxes of the financial plan you're interested in, and click Begin.
Answer the questions that TaxCut displays. Keep the following in mind:
You can estimate.
You can adjust the amounts after you create your plan.
If you are filing jointly, combine your and your spouse's amounts.
Be sure to combine savings from all relevant sources.
