When you are working in Forms Central, TaxCut allows you to search for a specific form.
You can also use TaxCut's Shoebox feature to find the appropriate tax form or worksheet for each piece of tax information that you want to enter as part of your tax return. The Shoebox tells you where the information belongs and can take you directly to the line in the form.
Click the Search button in the upper right hand corner of the Forms Central window.
TaxCut opens the Search window,
Scroll through the list of forms and select the form that you want.
Click the Go There button at the bottom of the Search window. TaxCut closes the Search window and displays the form you selected in Forms Central.
Note: If you choose to go to
an Interview window or Help topic while searching from within Forms Central,
TaxCut will prompt you to close the Forms Central window first.
From the Tools menu, select Shoebox . The Shoebox dialog opens.
In the first list (Document Received from), select the source of the document.
In the second list (For), select a document or type of information.
In a few cases, TaxCut displays more choices in the third list box to clarify which document you have.
For example, if you select "Receipts or checkbook" as the source, and "Meals and entertainment" as the information, TaxCut still has to find out whether the receipt applies to you as an employee, the owner of a business, a farmer, or a landlord.
If entries appear in the third list (To you), select the appropriate entry for your situation. Otherwise, at the bottom of the dialog box, Shoebox tells you on what federal form and line you should enter this item.
Click the Go There button to jump to the appropriate federal form and line.
