After 24 hours from transmitting your return, go back to the File tab. The Return Status screen should automatically display. Click the Check Status button. (After the communications session is complete, your acknowledgment appears.)
Note: You can check the status of your return after two days, but status information may not be available until four days have passed.
If both your Federal and State returns are accepted, TaxCut displays your Declaration Control Number (DCN). Write down this number and keep it with your records. TaxCut also confirms (on the screen or in a checklist) your current year's adjusted gross income (AGI) amount and your personal identification number (PIN), and gives you an opportunity to print the information. Make sure you print and keep a copy of this information. You will need your AGI amount and PIN to sign your return next year.
If either your Federal or State return is rejected, TaxCut will notify you and give you the opportunity to correct your errors. You can use the E-File Rejection Report to correct your errors. It outlines why your return was rejected and what you can do to fix the errors. To display this report, simply click the View Report button on the Check Status screen.
After you fix the errors, you may be eligible to resubmit your return electronically. You will not be charged for resubmitting a rejected return. You can also choose to print and mail your return. Simply select Filing Options from the File menu and follow the instructions for printing and mailing a paper return.
