We provide you notice of our information practices. To maximize the value of our products and services, we may request information from you when you register and use the product. When we collect information from you, we'll tell you what is being collected, how it is collected, by whom it is being collected, why it is being collected and to whom it may be disclosed. Here is how and why we collect and use information from you: * Registering your product During the registration process we request your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and company name. Intuit may share the personally identifiable information you provide, as permissible by law, with its family of companies, all of whom adhere to the principles in this statement. We may share specific personally identifiable information with partners, including financial and non-financial service providers, who need it to provide a product or service on Intuit's behalf. If you purchase a partner's product from Intuit, we may disclose your name and address to the partner. In addition, under certain circumstances we may share limited contact information with selected third parties such as financial institutions and selected online service providers, so that they may provide you with information about special offers we believe may be of interest to you. This information will help us continue to improve our products to better meet your needs. Some of the functions you may access include: downloading banking, credit card and investment balances and transactions from your financial institutions; paying bills online; and downloading stock and mutual fund information from Quicken.com. When you enable the online banking functionality, your financial institution will ask you for the information necessary to set up your online banking account. You provide this information directly to the financial institution, and Intuit is unable to access or use it in any manner. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of your financial institution to learn more about what, why and how it collects and uses personally identifiable information. When you use any of our online services, we do not collect any account or transaction- specific information. However, we periodically receive aggregated general usage information from financial institutions or their processors including which online services are used and the frequency of usage. Quicken users can choose to access new product information through the Services Directory, or to download stock and mutual fund information -- such as quotes, news headlines, asset classes, and alerts - from Quicken.com. This information is sponsored through promotions in Quicken. Quicken keeps track of which promotions have been displayed or clicked. This anonymous data, which does not contain any personally identifiable information, is periodically collected when a user goes online from within Quicken. This anonymous data is aggregated and used by Intuit to measure the number of times each promotion was displayed. * Surveys Occasionally, we may ask you to participate in a product survey or market research study. If you choose to participate in these activities, we may ask for your contact information, preferences or other information. This information may be used to conduct research to improve our products. * E-mail Message Formatting When sending you e-mail we may use an image called a single-pixel GIF, that allows us to (1) format messages that best align with your computer's capabilities, and (2) determine whether you've opened an HTML e-mail. When you click on a link within an e-mail message, you will first pass through our server, then be redirected onto the Internet.
