The expense I want to track doesn’t fit in any of the categories on the Category drop-down list. What should I do?

If an expense does not fit into any of the categories listed, we recommend that you do not track it with DeductionPro. If you record a deduction in the wrong category, DeductionPro will record the deduction incorrectly, which may cause you difficulties when you complete your tax return.

The expenses included in the Category drop-down list are those that correspond directly with a line on Schedule A.

If you have other deductible expenses that do not fit into any of these categories, we recommend that you keep a written record and report this information in the appropriate place when you prepare your tax return.
