Pausing the Backup

When you click Pause Backup, a message appears asking if you want to stop the backup. WD recommends that you do not pause a backup, because future file additions and modifications will not be backed up. Because the WD SmartWare™ software works in the background, you can proceed with other tasks while the WD SmartWare works in the background.

To continue the backup operation:

Click Continue Backup.

To stop the backup operation:

Click Stop Backup.
