If you are running Norton AntiVirus and start Image Converter 3 without inserting a "Memory Stick", CPU usage may become high. If this occurs, disable the feature in Norton AntiVirus that scans removable medias for boot viruses when inserting removable media. The CPU usage may become low. - Limitations on length of file names and path names The following limitations apply to the lengths of file names, folder names, and path names used with Image Converter 3: - The maximum allowed length of file names or folder names that files are saved is 63 characters. - The maximum allowed length of a full path name (including the file name and the full path of folders to reach the file) is 254 characters. - Standby and hibernation mode Do not go on Standby or hibernation mode while Image Converter 3 is converting a file. If the computer goes on hibernation or standby mode while Image Converter 3 is converting a file, the conversion will stop. - Files to be converted or transferred - Files that are less than one second long cannot be converted. - The convert while recording feature cannot be used if the recording duration is less than one minute. - Browsing content on the server over a network To browse media content on a server over a network, you must disable the firewall feature of Windows XP on your computer. Be aware that disabling the Windows Firewall may leave your computer system open to access by unauthorized individuals over your network. - Limitations on the "Divide the video into segments of the specified length" feature when transferring videos This feature cannot be used when transferring videos without conversion. When "Convert only videos whose formats are not supported by the transfer destination" is selected as the "Conversion during transfer" setting, videos whose formats are supported by the transfer destination are transferred without conversion. - Settings that require Administrator privileges to change Only users with Administrator privileges can change the following settings: 1. Settings related to TV recordings 2. The setting that divides videos into segments of a specified length 3. The setting for the temporary storage location for converted files - Supported formats For information about supported formats, refer to the "Image Converter 3 features" section of the online Help. Because of variations in the way file formats are implemented, Image Converter 3 may not be able to convert all files, even if they are in a format that is listed as supported. 2) Important notes (When using this program with VAIO computers) - Using VAIO computers that include VAIO Zone or Giga Pocket - When you use the Automatically convert during VAIO Zone/Giga Pocket recording and add to the list feature of Image Converter 3, do not use the convert while recording features of other programs. - When you use the Automatically convert during VAIO Zone/Giga Pocket recording and add to the list feature of Image Converter 3, the TV recording with VAIO Zone or Giga Pocket may fail because of the large amount of computer processing required. Confirm whether a program is recorded successfully when using the convert while recording feature. If you fail to successfully record a program, add the file to the To be Transferred list of Image Converter 3 after recording finishes and convert or transfer the file. (For details, please refer to the Image Converter 3 Help file.) - When you add a Video Capsule from Giga Pocket Explorer to Image Converter 3 by the "drag and drop" method, not all of the properties can be registered. If you require detailed information, add a Video Capsule by clicking the Add to the List button. - With the following VAIO RZ series, the Automatically convert during VAIO Zone/Giga Pocket recording and add to the list feature cannot be used: PCV-RZ102, PCV-RZ103, PCV-RZ104, PCV-RZ201, PCV-RZ211, PCV-RZ221, PCV-RZ301, PCV-RZ302, PCV-RZ304, PCV-RZ311, PCV-RZ312, PCV-RZ314, PCV-RZ321, PCV-RZ322, PCV-RZ324 Note: Please refer to the VAIO operating instructions or the VAIO Zone Help file for an overview of the VAIO Zone features and how to use VAIO Zone. - Using VAIO computers that include SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio Filter If your version of SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio Filter installed on your computer is version 1.1.00, Image Converter 3 may not operate properly. In this situation, update your version of SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio Filter to the latest version. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Readme.txt / Copyright 2006 Sony Corporation
