This tutorial will show you how to add events to a track at the play cursor.
Using the method described in this tutorial, you can create rhythms on a one-shot
track as easily as tapping your finger.
A one-shot is simply an audio clip that is not designed to loop (repeat).
Vocals, cymbal crashes, and sound effects would be considered one-shots.

This is an event from a loop track. In this case, it's a guitar strumming
a rhythm.
Loops repeat when you extend the length of an event.
The indentations at the top and bottom
of
the event
represent
the points where the audio repeats. Notice how the
material repeats seamlessly across repetitions.

One-shots are a fixed length; the audio does not repeat when you extend
