Brandon Smith A.K.A. A Space Forth's Original Music
Layout by Jared Broddle, but Brandon wants you to think he created it...
This is my music. My sound has a fairly wide range of variety, so beware, as some of this stuff is rather strange. If you don't want to witness my sometimes embarrassingly weird side, I implore you to not listen to anything with words. I 've been recording myself and all of my random ideas since about 2004/2005. Let us begin with some piano tunes!
:[CD-LENGTH COMPILATIONS / ALBUMS]:
December 26th, 2007: My first unofficial CD-length compilation. In truth, this playlist is only a collection of all the recordings I made during a period of time where I had no computer to use. I was using my parents' laptop and hence, all of ISaS was recorded on said laptop, and sounds a little tiny bit worse than most of my older recordings, albeit still not too bad. Originally, I assigned the tracks an album name (which references my quest for a new computer of my own) simply in order to differentiate between them and my other recordings. Yet somehow, their total back-to-back play time falls just minutes short of the maximum time alotted for a common compact disc, and thus I figure, "this is technically my FIRST compilation." (Note: These songs were previously available for download here on the site.)
April 14th, 2009: Not CD-length at all, I simply chose to label this as a compilation because it seemed strangely... Deserving of it. The Tranquiline Miniseries is actually one large recording (was played/performed entirely at the same time) split into several tracks, and each track is characterized by the synth instruments used for it. Also, the endings of many tracks were "programmed" in using clips of sound from their original endings. The name Tral Gibbidal, and the title Tranquiline - they are simply odd offshoots of my imagination. (If you have an idea of what I could do or what I could pair these with to make a full-length compilation, let me know!)
April 22nd, 2009: My first official and complete CD-length compilation. When picking out songs for this playlist, I aimed for a track list that would do well to embody the wide range of unique and diverse vibes and aural atmospheres attributable to the sound of A Space Forth as it existed then, through the piano and the synth, the instrumental and the vocal. I believe this goal was achieved in the creation of Niche Dimentia. It's also worth noting, perhaps, that the track, "Visitors Drifting" was composed especially for this album.
July 28th, 2009: The second official CD-length compilation created of A Space Forth. This was originally formed by request of some extended family who wanted a few of my piano recordings. SC-I is all piano, no exceptions. Again, when selecting tracks, I aimed to exemplify all extents in variety of my piano playing.

To listen to a random selection of ASF music without downloading song-by-song, visit the audio-streaming beta player via the link below! It isn't complete yet and is a little buggy, but is functional, and is being developed by Jonathan Brenner.
Stream ASF Music to Your Computer
Desireth thee to download the entirety of my musical repetoire? You can simply use this program, created by Jonathan Brenner, to do just that! Be warned that, there is a total of more than 1 Gigabyte in total file size of A Space Forth tunes, so the download will likely take a long while. If you're willing to wait a while to get all ASF music, then go right ahead! Be sure to put this program in the same folder that you want the music downloaded into. This program will also never download songs that you already have (provided their files remain in the same folder), so you can use it to update your collection of ASF tracks as well! :)
There are presently audio files available.

Each time I make a remastered MIDI, I record randomized playing of all the instruments involved in order to preserve the settings on my keyboard. Each of these are one of those random, short tunes.
Inversaspeech
While each of these pieces could fit under different categories, they all share one thing in common: All words spoken are a completely different set of words and sentences when each track is reversed.
Saber Adventures
Named after my common internet alias Saber Mage, these tracks are full of ambient noise, me talking, and of course, clicking and popping as I walk through different environments with the mic turned on.
River of Voices
Stuff similar to the last section, but with solely voices and nothing else. Some of these are just catchy "phrases", as well.
"I Guess I Should Close the Garage Door"
Ballad of a Fallen Angel Sample

The Staples Series
Each of these "episodes" captures 20-30 minutes of the insanity that is my friend Jonathan, I, and occasionally others hanging out near the computer. They're slow to come, but that's just because they're so crazy - and late at night! xP

MIDIs & 8-Bit
Tracks made using MIDI, and some converted to 8-bit sound. A keyboard was not used for any of these - note tracking all arranged by hand. Note that this does not include any music from the Robo Go (http://robogo.decidel.net) OST.
Remastered MIDI
MIDI tracks re-mastered and recorded with higher-quality instruments, rather than the typical General MIDI sound set.
