# Extension-owned session activation

An ordinary OMP session may become a ready OMP endpoint or live OMP endpoint through extension-native `/ready` and `/live` commands, with argument completion or native selection dialogs and explicit live auto-resume. The packaged OMP SPT extension—not the model or an agent-started background process—binds the current OMP session and owns the authenticated listener, converging immediately on the existing custody, activity, recovery, reply, and shutdown path; after activation, the endpoint/session binding remains immutable. Model-executed activation skills were rejected because listener ownership and endpoint identity are lifecycle infrastructure, while a menu-only flow was rejected because commands provide the discoverable, scriptable agent-facing surface.
