**Content (patch — one user-facing fix in the whole v0.41.0..main range, doyle-ruled after deployah's challenge):**
- Fixed (A): stale "update available" notices retired once the running image is at/past the advertised version — kills the keyless pre-0.40.0 legacy row's afterlife (W2 rider, REQ-NOTIF-UPDATE-ROW-VERSION-RETIRE). Worded repeat/resurface-only; first-send honestly excluded.
- Known (B): origin's one-time announce not suppressible receiver-side; source lever named.
- Known (C): ready-listener ungated-drain gap + HONEST NARROWING of v0.41.0's claim ("attached sessions and active windows but not listening agents") — discharges the corrective-note debt; repeats per cut until REQ-NOTIF-GATE-ALL-DRAIN-SURFACES ships.
- Internal: W2 Legs A/B as measurements (no defect owed), tooling corrections, no behavior change.

**⭐ Lessons banked this cut:**
1. **The predecessor-red was the test being honest.** #66's merge-run red (attach_idempotent_replay leg 2) triaged doyle→real-defect, todlando→refuted from artifacts, closed by three-arm measurement (control-with-replay-DELETED red 93/120 loaded + 12/13 SERIAL): rig-anchor artifact — PTY double-echo, with the shipped leg's serial-green resting on read_outcome's incidental swallow. 2. **#65's lockfile converse got paid-and-caught one cut after being written down**: aws-lc-sys sat at the OLD version (0.41.0) during this bump; blind sed would have corrupted it; cargo metadata left it alone; verified BY DIFF (11 first-party pairs exactly). The runbook note earned itself immediately.
3. Anchor fix (#68) + panic-label retraction (c65908d, the label-lies seed's fix) rode to main before the cut — the previously-red leg is green on the published tag's own CI.
4. Release-path CI rolls on #68: roll 1 member #4 (autostart sid), roll 2 daemon_e2e reap-latency (Phase B "quiet box" is FALSE on the fleet host), roll 3 green — random-victim family, box at baseline throughout.
5. Obs-3 formally decoupled from every release clock (structurally unobservable on full-auto nodes) — first cut shipped with NO hertz pre-apply hold, correctly.
