A frame poll arms whenever the next hook runs. PreToolUse keeps it mid-turn (we have that leg since v0.34.0). A commune written as the turn's *last* act is first visible at Stop, where the endpoint is going idle — different latch semantics, second arm path. Detection is the easy half.\\n\\n3. **Cursor ownership.** `--session-id` mode has core keep the cursor, so we hold no state — good, that dodges the cursor-blind second reader that bit me in v0.35.0. But it is *one* cursor per session: whoever polls consumes the rows for everyone, so this must stay a single owner or a PreToolUse poll eats the Stop leg's rows. And **a new session's first poll returns nothing and seeds silently** — if the first poll of a session is the one carrying the COMMUNE, we get an empty answer that reads exactly like \\\"no commune\\\". Seed at SessionStart or that miss is invisible.\\n\\n4. **No version where both detect.** Keeping the Write path alongside the funnel arms twice, and two post-clear sequences blend (the v0.14.1 scar). Either delete the Write detector in the same change — the v0.36.0 discipline that made the parser handoff clean — or make arming idempotent per drop.\\n\\n## What I'd measure before writing anything\\n\\nWatcher ingest latency: how many hook cycles sit between the drop landing and the `COMMUNE` frame appearing. That single number decides whether PreToolUse arming preserves the mid-turn property or whether a Stop-side arm is mandatory. Cursor ownership: `--session-id` mode has core hold the cursor (avoids the cursor-blind second-reader bug from v0.35.0), but it's one cursor per session — must stay single-owner or a PreToolUse poll will eat rows meant for the Stop-leg poll. Also: a new session's first poll returns nothing and seeds silently — if that first poll is the one that would've carried the COMMUNE, it reads as a false \"no commune\". Must seed the cursor at SessionStart.\n4. Must not run both old (Write-path) and new (frame-poll) detectors simultaneously — either delete the Write detector in the same change, or make arming idempotent per drop, to avoid double-arming / blended post-clear sequences (recalls the v0.14.1 scar).\n5.
